MILLER NAMED SHAREHOLDER AT BEASLEY ALLEN

MONTGOMERY – Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis & Miles, P.C. announced that J. Parker Miller is now a shareholder with the firm.

Miller joined the firm’s toxic torts section as an associate in 2008. His practice focuses primarily on complex litigation and property owner and business-on-business environmental litigation. He has

counseled some of the largest business entities in the Southeast and served as co-counsel to Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley in the valuation of the State of Alabama’s BP Oil spill claims.

Miller served as second chair to Beasley Allen’s plaintiffs’ steering committee position on the BP Oil spill litigation, which ultimately reached a landmark uncapped, multi-billion dollar settlement with BP for private claims throughout the Gulf of Mexico. In 2012, Parker was selected by the firm as toxic torts section Lawyer of the Year.

He graduated from Auburn University in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He received his J.D. from Faulkner University in 2008.

Parker is rated an AV Preeminent attorney by Martindale-Hubbell – the highest possible Martindale-Hubbell rating a lawyer can achieve in the categories of legal knowledge, analytical capabilities, judgment, communication ability and legal experience.

CAPELL & HOWARD NAMES THREE SHAREHOLDERS

MONTGOMERY – The law firm of Capell & Howard named three shareholders: David B. Hughes, Patricia R. Osuch, and April D. Wise.

Hughes has joined the firm after practicing law in Montgomery for more than 15 years. His practice is focused primarily on commercial and residential real estate, and he also assists clients in the areas of bankruptcy, foreclosures, workouts and creditors’ rights.

Osuch and Wise both began their careers as associates with the firm in 2008 and have recently accepted invitations to become shareholders. Osuch concentrates her practice in the areas of employment law and general civil litigation while Wise focuses on estate and tax planning, and estate and trust administration.

GOODWYN, MILLS & CAWOOD NAMES REGIONAL AIRPORT ENGINEER

MONTGOMERY – The Goodwyn, Mills & Cawood Inc. airport planning and engineering department announced the promotion of Ryan Pearce to a new role as regional airport engineer.

The position was created to meet the airport division’s growing client base and increasing demand for services.

Pearce has worked as a project manager and engineer in the firm’s transportation department in Birmingham for six years, managing more than $75 million in projects. As the regional airport engineer, he will oversee and ensure quality of projects throughout the Southeast.

“Ryan has developed a strong reputation for delivering outstanding client satisfaction,” Al Allenback, vice president of airport planning and engineering, said in a statement. “Placing him in this new role will help our airport division maintain its lead as the fastest-growing airport planning and engineering consulting group in the Southeast.”

Pearce received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Auburn University. He is a registered professional engineer in both Alabama and Florida.

RIVER REGION UNITED WAY ANNOUNCES PRESIDENT/CEO

MONTGOMERY – James L. “Jimmy” Hill is the newly named president and chief executive officer of the River Region United Way.

Hill succeeds Russell S. Dunman, who retired Dec. 31, after four years as president and CEO, preceded by 34 years of service as a United Way volunteer.

Hill has served as the River Region United Way’s senior vice president of resource development for the past four years. During that time, he directed campaign efforts which raised nearly $21 million.

“We are fortunate to have someone with Jimmy’s skills and experience to lead the River Region United Way as we focus on education, financial stability and health in our community,’’ 2012-2013 chair of the board Roger Spain said in a statement. “As a key member of the executive staff, Jimmy knows this organization and is well respected by donors, volunteers, staff, affiliate agencies and community partners alike.”

Having worked across multiple industries, Hill brings more than 30 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, franchising, pharmaceuticals, consumer products, sales and marketing. He holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Auburn University at Montgomery.

“I am very humbled and honored to lead an organization that has been in the River Region for over 90 years,” Hill said in a statement. “I’m excited and committed to making sure the River Region United Way continues to take the leadership role in engaging volunteers, donors and agencies to improve lives and positively impact our community.”

TRUSTMARK ANNOUNCES VICE PRESIDENT

MONTGOMERY – Trustmark Bank has recently named Neal Zeanah a vice president.

Zeanah, a retail banker at the Tallassee branch, is a native of Gulf Shores. He received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Auburn University at Montgomery.

 

COLDWELL BANKER COMMERCIAL MOORE COMPANY REALTY HIRES THREE

MONTGOMERY – Coldwell Banker Commercial Moore Company Realty announced the recent hires of Annabeth Greene, Beau Young and Carol Hendrix.

Greene will be at the front desk of the firm’s Montgomery office and assisting the property management and accounting teams with day-to-day operations.

She is a recent graduate of Samford University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in school counseling at the University of Montevallo.

Young is joining the sales and leasing team and will lead the retail division while working with both the Montgomery and Birmingham offices. He has 27-plus years of commercial real estate experience, specifically in retail development.

He previously was vice president of development for Aronov Realty Management Inc., where he was responsible for site location, anchor tenant procurement and project conception to development. Young also worked at New Development Leasing Community Centers Division at CBL & Associates in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Hendrix joined the firm’s property management team. She will assist senior property manager Elizabeth Dean, who oversees the management of retail centers in Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. Hendrix previously worked at Cousins Properties in Atlanta. She will pursue a real estate license.
